Drops Protection Netting Installation

The client and the principal contractor were planning to complete a Structural Remediation Scope on the “Crow’s Nest” section of the ship loader. This required a large, hoarded scaffold platform to be constructed to complete the works, the issue then arose about additional persons having access to the ship loader with the contractors working overhead.

Both the client and  principal contractor were aware of Tasman Rope Access’s capabilities in creating access solutions therefore Tasman Rope Access were approached to design and install and a Suspended Drops Protection System.

Tasman Rope Access created and constructed a certified, suspended drops protection and debris netting system which was designed to capture materials, equipment and even personnel. There were serious schedule constraints and the installation of the drop’s protection had to run in parallel to the principal contractor scaffold build ensuring Tasman Rope Access would not impact critical path. 

Tasman Rope Access successfully installed the drops protection netting system before the main scaffold was constructed, protecting and maintaining access to the other parts of the ship loader.
